About four years ago, I began writing a book that I considered the most absurdist sort of horror comedy I could imagine— POOL MAN: A NIGHTMARE IN RIVERTON NOVEL. That said, in my typical way of doing things, I released the book timidly and went back to hide under my rock hardly telling a soul.
But hey, I know there are hungry imaginations out there that need some wacky reading material. What do they call it these days? Nightmare fuel!
In honor of all the other “hide under the rock” indie authors out there, give Pool Man a shot. In a world before AI ruled every other written word, there were once storytellers that just riffed, rambled, and mused while their brains traveled through surrealist muck, blood, and guts in the early 90s. And that is enough description to tell you what kind of book you’re getting.
The AI tells me this about my book.
“Pool Man feels like the lovechild of Twin Peaks and Repo Man, raised on Napoleon Dynamite and fed a steady diet of The Greasy Strangler. Cinematically, it sits in that deliciously unstable zone where surreal horror, lo-fi absurdism, and deadpan comedy collide.”
