12/16/2019 --- Musings on another Monday

On Allergies

I awoke in a sudden, monochrome haze... feeling utterly unaware of where I’d misstepped the previous day. My eyes had become nothing more, nothing but dull, frosted lenses…the world all around me just caving in. It wasn’t fair, the thing that I had done, just chasing the sun away with the pill, little white. Only allergies in bloom and attitudes that kaboom! Maybe it’s true... just the chill in the air or that lovely revelation that I’ve been left with little hair. I turn to my left, and I turn to my right, with nothing but a terrible absence of delight. This cold it is tired, and ready to be retired. The floors they are black. The walls they are white, and not a single thing that I can do to get my groove back into flight.  Sips of tea, coated with honey, and even paying piles and mounds of my money… There’s no help that I can buy… for my throat is still dry, and there’s an endless wave of mountain cedar still up in the sky.

Yard Sale Weirdo

I ended up at a yard sale, like every other Saturday in the spring, just browsing. I had no ill intent, just a lonely guy... and truth be told I probably needed a breathmint. I explored the boxes of junk up and down, and the constant wave of people that were beginning to surround. They were all just hunting for a deal that they could not resist… all I wanted to do was to try and assist. I bent over and observed but a small nut, one that I had never seen while living in Nunavut. I bit into it and a wave of bitter came over me... Like a fool, I asked the man, the one that lived there, a simple question, “What is it?” He gave me a stare, a smug little grin, and said: “Sir, that’s not to eat. It’s nothing but for the squirrels to taste... a treat.” I didn’t care, I picked up and tried another. I looked him in the eye, and said “God gave them to all of us just the same.” He looked at me like I was nutty and showed me to the crazy train parked just outside the gate.

Furniture Run

I came into a furniture store one night...

With my little girl in tow, and with one goal in mind...

Get in... go out.... no anxiety, alright...

It was seamless and perfect... We Shared a hot dog and some icee flavored delight.

Only but a single blunder...an ill fated plight

When the drink hit the floor and spilled all over... what a sight.
